The suffix "A" may designate that this model wrench has the 1/4" and 3/16" (handy for square valve stems) openings on one end, and the back of the ratchet drive also has a 1/4" cutout. The ratchet gears sound good and the reverse works properly. A very handy tool, at 6 1/2" long (weighs just under 6 oz.) and a 24-tooth drive gear ~ a great addition to your tool box or collection!
