Safe-Guard® Dewormer for Beef/Dairy Cattle and Goats is an oral dewormer that provides effective treatment and control of a variety of internal parasites. In cattle, Safe-Guard® Dewormer for Beef/Dairy Cattle and Goats is approved for the removal and control of lungworms (Dictyocaulus viviparous), stomach worms (adult and fourth stage larvae), brown stomach worms (Ostertagia ostertagi), barber pole worms (Haemonchus contortus and H. placei), small stomach worms (Trichostrongylus axei), intestinal worms (adults and fourth stage larvae), hookworms (Bunostomum phlebotomum), thread-necked intestinal worms (Nematodirus helvetianus), small intestinal worms (Cooperia punctata and C. oncophora), bankrupt worms (Trichostrongylus colubriformis) and nodular worms (Oesophagostomum radiatum). In goats, Safe-Guard® Dewormer for Beef/Dairy Cattle and Goats is approved for the removal and control of adult barber pole worms (Haemonchus contortus) and stomach worms (Teladorsagia circumcincta). Safe-Guard® Dewormer for Beef/Dairy Cattle and Goats contains the active ingredient fenbendazole in a liquid suspension to be administered orally as a drench. Administer 2.3 mL for each 100 lbs of body weight. Under conditions of continued exposure to parasites, retreatment may be needed after 4-6 weeks. Do not administer to cattle within 8 days of slaughter, or to goats within 6 days of slaughter. Do not administer to calves to be processed for veal. For dairy cattle, there is no milk withdrawal period. Because a withdrawal time in milk has not been established, do not administer to lactating goats. Administer orally.
