The maintenance free pop up trundle works great for that extra guest bedroom or Airbnb room.... Both the daybed and the trundle fits a regular twin size mattress. Mattress support is sturdy and strong. The bed comes in 4 pieces for quick assembly. (Back, sides and support frame) The finish on this daybed has more of the inner bark left on the logs when they are peeled for a unique darker lodge look, and then it's stained and varnished. Trundle folds for storage and easily pops up for additional sleeping. Upkeep on our rustic log furniture is simple. Just sand out any nicks or scratches and reapply finish... or leave as is for additional character and rustic appeal. We choose to work with lodgepole pine as it grows naturally in the forests of NW montana and is known for its superior strength to weight ratio. It is also straighter, thus making it easier to work the raw wood into the highest quality furniture possible. Our lodge pole pine is harvested in the Kootenai National Forest via a very selective process. Skilled woodsmen select each tree with an attentive eye toward the quality, straightness and size of each specimen. After felling, each piece is hand carried to the road to ensure both the tree and the environment remain unharmed. Then each log is hand peeled, using the skip-peel method where some of the inner bark is left on the logs, creating a beautiful rustic piece of furniture for your home, lodge or cabin.
