The 7/16" pillar was CREATED FOR THE RUGER 10/22. The pillar can be placed directly under the escutcheon (brass fitting) that the stock screw fits into. The diameter of the pillar is the same as the escutcheon, making installation easier to perform. WHY USE BEDDING PILLARS? Using a bedding pillar eliminates the variable compression created when tightening a stock screw previously placed in a wooden or synthetic stock. The variable compression translates into stresses on the barrel and action which result in reduced accuracy.
