Description: Offered here is a reproduction A.C. Gilbert Erector set part number 'AK' pile driver. The 'AK' was included in the 1924 - 1926 No. 8 and the 1924 - 1932 No. 10 sets. This reproduction was made by casting a silicon mold using an original pile driver as the pattern. The part was cast using a tin, lead, and antimony mix and weighs about 13 ounces (an original cast-iron part weighs ~9 ounces). NOTE: The auction photos include scans of various manual separate parts pages and manual pages showing the “AK” in use. These pages ARE NOT included with this auction. You can right-click, Save Image as, if you’d like the scans for reference. Again, the auction winner will receive ONE (1) reproduction “AK” pile driver. Don’t hesitate to ask questions through eBay’s messaging service. Shipping is via USPS Ground Advantage postage in a 9” x 5” x 1” padded envelope weighing 14 ounces. NOTE: I combine shipping when possible. If you win multiples of my auctions, I will send an invoice with combined shipping. However, if you jump the gun and complete eBay’s checkout, I will still combine shipping and refund you the difference. If you are interested in learning more about Gilbert Erector sets, Google ACGHS for the home page of the A. C. Gilbert Heritage Society. Included in the photos is a sample page of an Erector parts guide I wrote about 10 years ago; it details the variations of all of the parts used between 1933 – 1962 and is available as a free download from the ACGHS web site. Another trivial fact; the ACGHS webmaster is one of A. C. Gilbert’s grandsons! Thanks for looking!
