Description: Les Bernard Inc. was founded by Bernard Shapiro, the son of Harold Shapiro of Vogue jewelry and Lester Joy. The company produced jewelry in NYC from 1963 to 1996 under their own label and also manufactured pieces for designers Mary McFadden, James Galanos, Ugo Correani and the Dynasty collection of TV show fame. It is easy to see their select appeal to other designers - this is a gorgeous statement brooch in a glowing, almost matte finish with subtly varying surface textures. Measures 3" long and 1 1/4" at the widest link. The reverse side features the typical fine finishing and attention to craftsmanship that we expect to see in designer costume jewelry. Overall condition is very good. Likely from the early 90s, this brooch would pair beautifully with equestrian style scarves that feature chains and would look fabulous on the collar of a coat - a trend that is definitely worth re-visiting! Just gorgeous!
