Description: Unusual US Military Milpar Columbus and Manufacturing Co. based out of Columbus Ohio Bayonet knife and measuring 11.25" overall with a blade length of 6.25". Very good condition showing some light wear, age patina. Rock island records show deliveries in FY 1964 of 182,804 of these. Rock Island Arsenal chrome plated some of these for use by the Cadets at the US Military Academy of West Point. Very few in fact. Top of guard shows Company markings along with US markings and DoD cartouche from the Dept of Defense. Comes with a very nice USM8A1 Scabbard made by TWB. A very interesting piece.
