Description: While this may not be the most visually appealing radio, it more than makes up for it with its incredible history. The Telefunken T6445 GWK was apparently the first set made by the company after the end of World War 2. The sets were available as soon as 1946, and was a popular choice for several years with U.S. (and even some Soviet) troops. It's absolutely amazing that the engineers were able to source the parts needed in the midst of overwhelming supply chain issues. I have only ever seen a couple of these sets myself, and couldn't pass up the opportunity to find it a new forever home. The set has not been tested (though it apparently can be used with 110v/120v, and has a U.S. style plug). Although it is missing part of the handle covering, and does have a few bumps, overall it's in fairly good shape. It retains the original pressed board back and bottom, along with the cloth-covered wire antenna. This set sits at the intersection of Telefunken, WW2 interest, and portable radios. A rare chance to add this set to your collection! A word about shipping: I have selected the least expensive options possible, but would be happy to explore other options with you.
