Description: This is an antique, green carnival glass ruffled bowl by Northwood in the difficult to find Posies and Pods a.k.a. Beads pattern. The pattern is on the exterior of the bowl. The interior is smooth. The iridescence appears to be a marigold. Marigold iridescence on green glass was called the Alaskan treatment. The effect here is a pretty orange almost butterscotch in color The most unique feature of this bowl is its base, which is spool threaded. This bowl is marked on the interior bottom center with the classic Northwood trademark, an underlined N in a circle, ca. 1908. Approx 8" dia. The bowl is in very good/excellent condition with no flea bites, chips, cracks, or restorations. The iridescence is likewise very good, evenly sprayed, richly applied. There are some very minor and light straw marks (shearing tool marks) and internal air bubbles from manufacturing, which is very common in the hand manufacturing of old carnival and opalescent glass pieces
