RARE MISSION INN RIVERSIDE CALIFORNIA SOUVENIR SPOON PAYE & BAKER ORANGES BELL

Description: A rare Mission Inn Riverside California souvenir spoon. It has a cut out design on the handle including a bell suspended on a wooden structure, with oranges and orage blossom below it. The handle is embossed on one side are the words ‘Mission Inn’ and on the other side ‘Riverside California’ followed by the makers mark P & B inside hearts - Paye & Baker Mfg. Co. It is not magnetic, so it may be silver. Overall it measures approximately 14.3cm long; the bowl measures approximatley 4.5cm x 2.7cm. Although it doesn’t have the word ‘sterling’ I can see that someone has done a ‘scratch test’ to see if it was silver plated; it is not. In good antique condition with wear in keeping with age and use: surface scratches and slightly uneven to the touch; please see the last photo showing the ‘scratch’ test for silver on the back of the bowl.
