Description: Rare lot of 3 pieces of Italian hand painted pottery: a small pitcher in unusual shape, a goblet or possibly toothpick holder and a small cover with knob intended to cover butter or cheese. The pitcher measures 5 1/2 inches in height and has a very unusual lip design and footed base. It is about 3 3/4 inches in diameter at widest part. The design features a scene of a dragon sitting atop a castle and the colors are predominantly bright yellow, cobalt, black and some green on a white background. The initials of the painter are on bottom. The goblet or toothpick holder is 3 1/4 inches in height and has a diameter at upper rim of 2 3/8 inches. It is handpainted with intricate swirls in bright yellow gold and cobalt with darker gold brownish accents. There is a chip from manufacture that was painted over (see photos). The butter/cheese cover has a design of flamingos, hippopotamus and palm trees around side and a star design painted on top. It is done in bright shades of yellow, blue, green, red and black. It measures 3 inches in height and has a diameter of 3 1/4 inches - will easily fit on a saucer or bread and butter plate to cover butter or cheese. It is signed on bottom "B. Lutepo". I've never seen another piece like this. These pieces were all purchased by my daughter who has a large collection of Italian potter. Since she's moved and has a smaller kitchen she asked me to sell for her. All items I sell either come from or have been stored in a smoke free environment and are sold “as-is”.
