Description: RARE CA 1830 LARGE GERMAN MAJOLICA HOCHST DAMM COUPLE W/ SHEEP FIGURINE. Shipped WELL WRAPPED with USPS Priority Mail. From an estate sale. Remarkable find. Rare German antique, ca. 1830, hand painted, majolica, large figurine. It depicts a couple with a pet sheep. She appears to be disinterested or sleeping. An item this old and delicate is going to have some damage, but it is not bad. The male's left hand held up has a hairline to the backside of his fingers and the other side has a very small nick. No repairs on the fingers. Shown in an enlarged photo. On the underside of the figurine, there are some very old "professional" repairs to the stress cracks. These cracks do not go through to the outside of the figurine. Also shown in enlarged photos. There are no stains or discoloration. It measures approximately 8 1/4" in height, approximately 7 3/4" in depth, and approximately 8 3/4" in width. The post office has raised their rates. This figurine is heavy. Properly wrapped, it will not fit into a flat rate box. Shipping is expensive. Returns are accepted only if I have not accurately described the item. Pictures are a part of the description.
