Description: RARE ANTIQUE VTG 1917 Universal 5822 Thermos Carafe by Landers Frary and Clark. This is a very rare item with only one other showing up on ebay that is not in as good shape as this one. This Carafe is in very good condition considering it is over 100 years old. Surface has some minor scuffs and one scratch as shown in pictures. Stopper has a visible spot and what looks like a fill on the tapered neck. The interior is clean with no residue or smell. When you look down the neck you see some discoloration but it is not on the surface that touches the liquid, it is on the outside of the inner thermos bottle between the layers. This carafe is like a vacuum thermos bottle and will hold your liquids hot or cold for many hours. It holds 40 liquid ounces to the brim or 38 to the level with the stopper.
