Description: This fabulous antique copper roasting pan is stamped Meret 56 Unis France, and with number 60. It has bronze handles firmly fixed with large copper rivets. Formed from one sheet of copper with dovetail joints up along each corner. A rare find this impressive roaster would probably have been kept busy in a professional kitchen, having the knocks, marks and wear commensurate with this. Originally tin lined, this has now worn low across the pan with lots of copper bleed so would need to be re-tinned for use. It sits fat on the surface. Approx. dimensions - 60cm L x 47cm W x 10cm H Including handles - 63cm L x 18c H Rim - 3.6mm Weight 14.4kg A stunning pan which would make a wonderful addition to any copper cookware collection making a real statement in any kitchen.
