Description: VERY DIFFICULT TO FIND ONE OF THESE MEDALS, LET ALONE THREE. THIS IS A WHAT I UNDERSTAND TO BE A 1940 HELSINKI WINTER OLYMPICS COMMEMORATIVE COIN MEDAL. THEY WERE MINTED IN VERY LIMITED AMOUNTS AND OBVIOUSLY NEVER DISTRIBUTED DUE TO WWII. FROM WHAT I KNOW, THESE EVENTUALLY MADE THEIR WAY TO THE PUBLIC AFTER THE WAR AND WERE SOLD AS COMMEMORATIVE OBJECTS. YOU GET ALL THREE VERSIONS, GOLD, SILVER AND BRONZE. I DO BELIEVE THESE ARE AUTHENTIC AND QUITE RARE. EACH MEDAL MEASURES 3.7 CM WIDE. IT WEIGHS BETWEEN 13-14 GRAMS. THIS MATCHES THE KNOWN FACTS OF THIS VERY RARE OBJECT. HERE IS A LINK TO A MUSEUM IN FINLAND WHERE YOU CAN SEE AN UNCIRCULATED EXAMPLE OF THIS MEDAL AND READ MORE ABOUT THE DETAILS OF ITS VERY EXISTENCE. IN VERY FINE LIGHTLY TARNISHED/HANDLED CONDITION AS SHOWN. If bidding outside the US, ask me to check what it will cost to ship to your country. This is best resolved before you bid.
