Description: RARE 1800s Cabinet photo TEXAS CENTRAL RAILROAD Engine #123. Offered is an original RARE 1800 period (1870’s to 1890’s) cabinet photo of Texas Central railway men and steam locomotive engine #123. In the background to right is a huge watering tower. Ten men can be seen in the photo – the man at the front on the pilot (or cowcatcher) has a man standing behind him (can just see his left side). The man setting near the pilot is wearing a knife on his side on belt. On the engine cab is name “TEXAS*CENTRAL” (that is all I can read). The #123 appears on the engine wood/coal card and on front circle of engine. NO exact date or location is shown. A child has written and drawn on the back (years ago). This is the only known photo of #123 that exist today – after weeks of research (no copies of this one are known). LIKELY YOU WILL BE THE ONLY KID ON YOUR BLOCK WITH THIS ONE!
