Description: Quaint study "The Homestead _ Piano" 1931 by Daisy Snoddy ARPS This is plate XXXIII from a vintage copy of "The Year's Photography 1931-1932 published by the Royal Photographic Society". Daisy Snoddy was a fellow of the Royal Photographic Society, the Royal Society and a member of the Manchester Photographic Society. She was born Margaret Elizabeth Snoddy in Sankey Bridges, Lancashire in 1882 to James Smylie Snoddy (1851-1921) a headmaster and Emily Isabella Summersgill (1856-1937) and spent most of her life around Warrington and North Wales. By 1932 she had won over 200 medals and plaques in international competitions exhibiting at the RPS from 1925 to 1936. A teacher by profession she travelled widely in the Mediterranean and in 1934 married Walter William Henry Ralphs 1885-1945 a chartered surveyor and auctioneer. She lectured on photography and in 1958 her work was shown at the All Women Exhibition at the DJ Gallery. Delivered in an acid free archival sleeve and hard backed envelope. Happy to combine postage.
