Description: Prewar JAZZ 78 Lot (5): Columbia Photo Players (Selvin)/ Art Hickman’s Orchestra These appear V+ to E range, with Saxophone Septette maybe just slightly below. I often need an extra day (3 days max) to ship 78’s as they require larger boxes and more packing effort (for SAFETY) than LP’s & 45’s. These 78’s are visibly graded and then several “spots” are play tested . I always try to grade accurately, but with 1000’s of records mistakes can sometimes (though not at all often) be made. I will always allow free returns and guarantee these 100%. E+: Plays like new with very few signs of handling. High gloss.Maybe a few TINY scuffs.E: Still very shiny, near new looking, with no visible signs of wear, but a few inaudible scuffs and scratches.E-: Still shiny but without the luster of a new record, few light scratches. V+: is an average condition 78 in which scuffs and general use has dulled the finish somewhat. Wear is moderate but playing is generally free from distortion. Surface noise not overly pronounced. V: Moderate, even wear throughout, but still very playable. Surface noise and scratches audible but not intrusive.V- Quite playable still, but distortion and heavy greying in loud passages. Music remains loud in most passages. Surface noise and scratches well below music level. G+: Grey throughout but still serviceable. Music begins to sound muffled. Heavy scratches.
