Pre Civil War Early Colts Patent .31 Caliber M1849 Pocket Model Bullet Mold #M20

Description: Offered is this very nice higher end Civil War Colt .31 caliber 1849 Pocket Model iron bullet mold (#M20). Shows little use as shown. Very sharp ‘Colts Patent’ on the front mold block. This mold has minor period use and beautiful cavities - it was likely part of a long term cased set. It is very tight opening and the sprue movement. I believe this is original due to its light use. No metal grinding or issues this is just a tightly functioning mold. Bluing throughout but especially interior. I’ve taken of pictures so you can see this mold from every angle and be confident in your purchase. Reference’Robin Rapley’s Colt Accoutrements, 1834-1911’ for identification of this mold. An excellent addition to a cased set or Civil War display. This mold has been carefully oiled and wiped off with a clean cotton cloth. This work (using just a high quality gun protectant oil and a clean cotton cloth) helps prevent rust, lubricates the hinges, and prepares it for use or display.
