Description: This great pair of antique French binoculars was made by the famous opera glass maker LeMaire of Paris. They feature leather covered barrels and retractable hoods with black painted brass metal parts. When they are fully detracted, they are 5.25" long. They are 4.5" wide and 2.25" thick. They look like the type of field glasses that were used in the Franco Prussian War and the American Civil War. The objective lenses are 2" in diameter and the ocular lenses are .75" in diameter. Aside from a little looseness of the leather covering and the wear expected for an item 150 years old, they are in quite good usable condition. Stock number SA2D-219
