Description: A vintage loose leaf print from 1958 published by Beaverbrook Newspapers in an art portfolio series. It has been sympathetically framed with a nice dark wood surround with card mount which compliments the piece. After the painting by Paul Klee from 1938 titled Oriental Sweet. Paul Klee was a Swiss Born German artist 1879 to 1940. He was influenced by Impressionism, Cubism and Expressionism. The original painting was 26 inches x 19 approx . This work represents the latter phase of the artists career with bold dark strokes. Palm trees, a pyramid, a half moon and a figure can be picked out, possibly eyes, interesting blocks of colour. This print is 66 years old and was printed only 18 years after the artists death and 20 years after it was painted. Measures 14.5 inches x 12.5 approx in total, image size 9 x 7 inches approx . In good condition , the loose leaf print is still attached by one edge of the original 1958 weak glue to the backing paper. Interesting piece, good luck. Please see my other items.
