Description: Past Patterns PP#05001920s Step-In Underwear Sewing Pattern This 1920s Step-In Underwear sewing pattern is an original Past Patterns design ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just like it's nineteenth century cousin, item#0707 - Mid-nineteenth Century Chemise, this pattern for 1920's step-in underwear, also called a Chemise, can be worn under a corset. Yes, they wore corsets during the Flapper era. Just like today, not all women followed the latest fashion, especially women who had worn corsets in their youth. Women with mature figures would have found it difficult to wear the light weight undergarments fashionable during the 1920's. Young women with slight figures could wear the bandeau and forgo corsets or girdles and wear their chemises over their bandeau. The drawers close with a tab in the seat that buttons from back to front. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The pattern is Sizes 10-20 Size 10 Bust Size 33” Waist 25 ½” Size 12 Bust Size 34 3/4” Waist 27” Size 14 Bust Size 36 1/4” Waist 28 ½” Size 16 Bust Size 37 3/4” Waist 30 1/4” Size 18 Bust Size 39 1/4” Waist 31 3/4” Size 20 Bust Size 41” Waist 33 1/4” ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ FABRIC REQUIRMENTS using 36” wide Fabric: Sizes 10 1 7/8 Yds. We do this with the hope that people will start creating and wearing reproductions instead of antique originals. The clothes we wear and that our grandparents wore are part of our cultural history. Just as you would not abuse antiques furniture by cutting off decorative trim, so you should not abuse antique garments by wearing them. Our second goal is that you pick up a little bit of history when you sew the garment. The fit, the cut, the fasteners, the fabric design, just to mention a few things, are part to the technology of the time. Our third goal, in sewing the patterns, is to spark an interest in genealogy and local history. Researching local history is always a rewarding pursuit. SKU 0500 Thanks for looking!
