Description: You are bidding on one lot of two irons or blades or cutters for a Trustworthy wood block plane as pictured.Both irons are marked "TRUSTWORTHY". Width of the shorter iron is about 1-5/8" and overall length is about 3-7/8". It features the two square-ish holes to engage the adjuster, and has the center slot.Width of the longer iron is about 1-5/8", and overall length is about 4-7/16". It features the row of notches on the back side of the iron to engage the adjuster, and has the center slot.Please see page 295 in Roger Smith's great book Patented Transitional and Metallic Planes in America Volume II (PTAMPIA II). It lists Trustworthy as a brand name used by the Salt Lake Hardware Company of Salt Lake City, Utah. They were in business circa 1950 and the planes sold under the TRUSTWORTHY name were made for them by Sargent.Condition of the shorter iron is good, with lots of the original grinding marks visible. It appears to have been buffed by a prior owner, and as a result is reasonably shiny and clean. There are some small chips to grind out of the sharp edge.Condition of the longer iron is better, reasonably clean and bright with a bit of patina (color) and just the tiniest hint of pitting. The Post Office now has several prices increases during each year, raising a few things but not everything at each increase. And they now raise their rates during the Holidays, which means early October to late January. Their big increases are in January, timed to start at the end of the Holiday rates, and this year is no exception. And it's not just the postage rates, the insurance charges and the delivery signature charges have also gone up. There is now a surcharge for Priority Mail packages over 20" long, and another for Priority Mail packages over 30" long, because those longer packages won't fit in their automatic machines. And the Post Office has discontinued the Regional Flat Rate boxes, which were often less expensive for certain sizes and weights. I try to pick the best shipping option for each listing, based both on what is the least expensive and on what I think is needed to protect the item. If the value is $250 or over, eBay requires your signature at delivery for the buyer and seller protections to be in effect.SALES TAX: Interstate sales tax is now the reality on all the major selling websites including eBay. If I ship to a state where eBay is required to collect sales tax, eBay will charge you the sales tax for your location. There is lots of information available from eBay that explains it in much more detail. The sales tax is completely out of my hands -- I don't have anything to do with deciding whether to charge tax, I don't have anything to do with deciding the tax rate, and I never see any of the funds that are collected, they go directly to eBay.SELLING OUTSIDE OF EBAY: Why would I risk my lengthy good standing with eBay to save you a couple of dollars? Especially when you ask on an email that is sent through the eBay email system? Please don't ask, the answer is no.INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: I no longer ship Internationally other than Canada.
