Description: Oyster Plate Antique American Porcelain Oyster Plate c.1882+ ATHIS IS A VERY LOVELY UNION POTTERY WORKS OYSTER PLATE WITH BEAUTIFUL GREEN SHADING DECORATION AND GILT ACCENTS.Offered is this gorgeous antique American porcelain oyster plate. I would like to state that this is a true antique American made plate from the 1880's, not some cheap knock-off by an Italian or Chinese company from the 1980's, which there happen to be multiple online to confuse you right now! Made by the Union Porcelain Works (UPW) of New York and was the first American company to make oyster plates! The overall background color is a soft light green. It has wells for 4 oysters a scallop shell for lemon and a small shell for a mussel.It has coral and black color seaweed in between the oyster wells. It also has a little crab and a crab claw and several sea shells that you need to look for! It has an overall oblong shape. It is well marked on the back and is 8.5 inches long and 6.5 inches wide. It is in excellent antique condition with no chips or cracks. This will be a wonderful addition to your collection.THE PLATE IS 8/ 1/2", I HAVE A SET OF 8 OF THESE IF YOU WOULD LIKE MORE THAN ONE.
