Ovation Celebrity CC 057 & the Original Hardshell Case

Description: Ovation Celebrity CC 057 & the Original Hardshell Case - has original paperwork. This guitar was secure in it's case in a closet of a drummer for at least 30 years. As Ovation enthusiasts know, tracking down exact production years of many Ovations guitars is next to impossible. Due to this, I consulted the Ovation company - specifically Mic Finnerty - at Ovation and the conclusion is that it is probably one of the custom produced models from 1989. The original paperwork leaves no doubt to the model number and serial number, but Mic said that there are versions of the Ovation Celebrity where the serial numbers and model numbers don't give any real information as to production years. It plays great and works perfectly, even for terrible guitarists like myself. I am hoping to send this to a guitarist who can make better use of the instrument musically than I am able to. The close-up photos are intended as evidence that the entire instrument, which is over 30 years old, contains but a single minor flaw on the headstock that is completely cosmetic and does not impact the sound or action of the instrument. Note, for example, that the back of the shell (or bowl, as ovation often calls it) there is not a single scratch even though Ovations are notorious for scratching on the back. This is evidence of how little the instrument was used. Even more surprising is that this is one of the models that requires the use of a 9 volt battery, and yet there is zero evidence of corrosion over the decades. This tells me it was well take care of, such as removing the battery when not in use. We've all had the experience of opening the battery compartment to a flashlight only to be met with battery corrosion that kills the whole thing. No corrosion here, and as you can see in a photo I put in a battery to make sure all the electronics are 100%. A nearly identical listing from a different seller is asking over 1k and that one does not include the original hardshell case, nor the original warranty card and accompanying pamplet. The only real difference is that the other listing has oyster shell inlay on the frets and the artistic rendering that circumvents the sound hole. In other words, how much value would you place on oyster shell?
