Description: This hardcover FIRST U.S. EDITION, FIRST PRINTING of Isak Dinesen’s Out of Africa is tightly and squarely bound and in very good condition but for light shelfwear and edgewear, some bumping to the spine ends and corners, toning to the pages (most notability to the endpapers), and a prior owner’s small bookplate affixed to the top left corner of the front pastedown endpaper (which bookplate is entirely covered by the front dust jacket flap when the jacket is on the book). Please see photographs as to condition. The dust jacket is a FACSIMILE (reproduction) of the first edition dust jacket, which looks terrific. It is protected in a removable mylar jacket protector. Please see photos. This collectible classic book—the basis for the acclaimed Merchant-Ivory film of the same title—is not ex-library, not remaindered, and not a book club edition.
