Lidral, most likely in 1977 Printed in: issued by Central Committee of Czechoslovak Communist Party in Publishing House Svoboda, May 1977, printed by Rude Pravo, printing enterprises Prague Total measurements: approx. 66,5x46,5cm Condition report: poster was stored rolled, shows some tears and creasing especially on edges and in corners, also shows some waves, may shows some yellowing and some stains Historical context: the extermination of Lidice (June 9 and 10) was a violent historical event in which the central Bohemian village of Lidice was destroyed and a significant part of its inhabitants murdered by German Nazi occupiers.After the successful assassination of Reinhard Heydrich by Czechoslovak paratroopers in 1942, the village of Lidice was burned and razed to the ground as a result of the heydrichiad, and the entire local population was executed or sent to concentration camps. The total number of victims reached 340 (192 men, 60 women and 88 children).The event is commemorated today by the Lidice Memorial and Museum (Wiki).
