Description: Featured is a Shamrock Brand lemon crate label from the 1930s. The lemons were packed by the Placentia Mutual Orange Association of Placentia, California in Orange County. This original box label is 8 1/8" x 12 7/16" and is in excellent condition. Fruit and vegetable crate labeling began on the Pacific Coast of the United State in the mid 1880s and were pasted onto wooden crates. These labels were never meant to be saved, but their interesting designs and colors have inspired collectors and decorators alike!
