Description: Hard to find and very popular Model 1841 Mississippi rifle original Civil War period walnut butt stock'. Good condition and a very easy repair of forearm will gain you a very nice stock. The forearm was period shortened but retains the original rear band spring--the loading rod spoon retainer and an original butt plate. The lock mortise is complete and not wallowed out. The trigger guard inlet is crisp and requires no repair. There is a small period crack on the bottom of the fore arm that will close up with a clamp--the crack doesn't enter the barrel channel so its not cracked all the way thru. The implement recess is nice and clean . A faint inspector cartouche remains--please look closely at the pics as what you see is what you get
