Optimus STAV 3400 Stereo Receiver Professional Series Home Theater TESTED

Description: Here it is a Radio Shack brand Optimus STAV-3400 professional series unit. Comes with the original purchase receipt sold at Radio Shack back in 1994. They were not giving it away at over 400.00. Back then for me I would of had to take a zero percent interest loan for 6 months to have been able to own it if that option was ever available there. After further discovery I was hoping this unit would've been new, but it was used. NO remote or no manual. Just the original box and broken foam inserts which do still serve its purpose to protect this unit. Thanks to the box this unit looks to be in very good condition. The unit powers up and pushing every button. The display did register the mode you set it in. Hooked up an 8 Ohm speaker to every speaker port and sound came out from every port with selection options working. Some sound was staticy a bit in some selections but I did not have an antenna hooked up to it. Because of the lack of components, I was not able to check all of the AV/RCA ports. But mentioned earlier when selected the mode did display on the screen. Checked the sound mode changes, Jazz, Church etc. Every sound option selected the speaker changed in sound. So that checked out. Pretty cool. Looked in the vents with a photo. Nice to see shiny components, looked clean inside. But yea, that as all I can tell you about it. This came from in icredible audio collection. Pratically an audio museum, I was impressed. Because this is an old electronic unit being 30 years old. This unit is to be sold in AS IS condition. AS IS regardless of what the description states or does not state. AS IS vs your opinion with my opinion on any sound quality issues, 30 years old. AS IS if their is a certain function that performs NOT to your expectations or lengthy messages of technical jargon about why you were upset, furthermore sold AS IS. AS IS pretty much period. Your risk to purchase this item. I would like this to go to someone who is handy with them or not afraid to tinker with them to learn. That is part of the hobby with old electronics, especially you guys that are a part of the restoration community. Hats off to you from me personally. If you are not handy with them. I am not interested in what your repair guy has to say or cost etc if something happens. Again Your risk. This will be shipped in its original box with cardboard wrapped around it or placed entirely in another box to protect the original box and its identity. PLEASE no buyer remorse sufferers I think the description explained that enough. Just simply offering an old Radio Shack product to own. To someone who appreciates it for what it is as it is.
