Description: Omar Guild Studios Gold Encrusted Two-handled Serving Plate Thomas.Gold Encrusted Two-Handled Serving Plate made by Thomas, Bavaria and decorated by Omar guild Studios, Chicago, Illinois. An all-over gold encrusted motif of etched poppies depicted both in full bloom and in bud entwine and sway with smaller five-petaled forget-me-nots on the wide, 1- 5/8 inch rim of the plate. The center of the plate is also gilded with a stippled gold pattern, and the back of the rim is covered with smooth gold. measures 9-3/4 inches in diameter, 10-1/2 inches across the handles. Stamped under the glaze in teal green with the winged Thomas Shield followed by the word Bavaria. It is also stamped over the glaze in black with the circular Stouffer Studio decorator mark. The Thomas mark was used from 1908 to 1939, when the company was a subsidiary of Rosenthal, and the Stouffer mark narrows the date of this plate to between 1918 and 1922.
