Oberheim DMX&DSX

Description: This DMX DSX pair are in very good operating and cosmetic condition. They where purchased new together and come with a custom ANVIL flight case. These units where not used allot but have some minor cosmetic defects. Some bottom wear on the DMX but very little on the DSX. The red display gel (material over the LED display) on the DMX is cracked on the edges where the manufacturers specification allowed pressure from the LED block on the gel because the LED profile was a little too tall. This does not extend across the display itself but just on the edge of the LED block and can be replaced using appropriately colored film light gel or thin, colored heat resistant sheet. The DSX will need a replacement battery (3.6 v with solder tabs http://www.electrongate.com/dmxfiles/accessories.html) as these are notorious for leaking so it was removed before being displayed. The DMX has a new battery pack with heavy load capacity that should last the life of the unit. The DMX does not have midi but is configured with the memory upgrade and the latest OS (see photo). These units are loved but not needed and I hope they will be useful and cool to the new owner. The flight case, like many, has had its decomposed foam removed and readied for a new foam kit from Anvil or A&S case in N Hollywood if they are still around. The units were never exposed to the decomposing foam and were stored in a display setting. I will include pictures of the foam before removal so you can have a reference for getting new foam cut. The buttons and faders work like new and noise floor is within new specification. C/V and gate outs on DSX tested with an Oberheim Xpander and function perfectly. These should be a blast for a collector or modular synth owner or anyone who loves the feel of these units and these will complete the OB-Xa or OB-8 system perfectly.
