Description: This listing is for a Lucas High Output 3 Phase Alternator and Solid State 3 Phase Power Box. It is designed to give headache relief from your old OEM Uncle Lucas charging system. Included is one (1) 145 Amp Lucas 3 Phase High Output Stator and one (1) 3 Phase PowerBox Unit. This will work with a negative or positive ground system. The three stator mounting holes are 3.75" apart. This is the standard factory measurement on most 1960's onward Brit bikes. Lucas part numbers are WW10192L 47244. This will kit replace the rectifier and zener diode. This modern system regulates the voltage rather than dispersing it into heat. It also allows a bright head light during idle without killing the battery. We recommend the use of a gel cell or glass mat battery. This is by far the best upgrade to install on any Brit bike. We use this kit on our bikes and have sold many without issues. It will work with a points or electronic ignition system. Included are complete installation instructions. This is a 3-wire alternator, all 3 wires from the alternator connect to the 3 yellow wires on the PowerBox. It does not matter which alternator wire goes to which yellow Powerbox wire. On British motorcycles with a (+) positive ground system, the black lead from the Powerbox connects to the ignition switch on the switched side (when you turn the key on it is connected). The red wire connects to ground, (either your (+) battery terminal or frame). For a negative ground system just reverse the black and red wire connections. The PowerBox unit will require mounting. The dimensions are 3"x3"x 1" with mounting holes 2.5" apart. Try and mount the Powerbox where it will be properly ventilated. We usually mount them on the underside of the battery box. The Ebay compatibility is not accurate so if in doubt or your motorcycle is not listed, email us for fitment info. Include the year, make model of your beast.
