Description: Here is a set of eight wooden shakuhachi made by the top manufacturers of wooden flutes in Japan. Seven are made by Kocho and the 1.8 standard length by Seifuu. There are two 1.5's - a standard five-hole and a converted seven-hole for musicians who need to play the Miyako Bushi Scale clearer and quicker without embouchure and cross fingering adjustments, a 1.7 - E# (or Db), 1.8-D. There are two 2.1 lengths. One has been adjusted to play in C, the other B. Last one is 2.2 in Bb. Professional musicians who double on shakuhachi often have these fine-tuned as the quality and feel is unsurpassed based on cost when done right. The compromised old cork on some of the flutes have been replaced and each flute has had minimal fine tuning to make them more friendly. These were made around the 1990's and show a little normal wear. But rest assured, each flutes plays above teh normal standard when they were finished off the assembly line. These are fully guaranteed for any reason. Please know the shakuhachi is like the violin or human voice. although the flutes are well tuned to Western standards of pitch and scale intervals, it still requires the player to dial in the exact pitch. This is not a problem for any shakuhachi player. Normally, each one is priced around $350 fine-tuned. $250 off the assembly line. Comes with hard case picture. All latches work perfectly.
