Description: Here is a NEW, GENUINE Kiev cassette for Kiev 30 30M 303 & Vega 2 cameras It is NOT 3D printed. It is molded plastic made in Ukraine The Kiev camera company made several 16mm cameras -- based on the original, famous, Minolta 16mm camera. They even copied the Minolta 16mm film cassette. But just like the cameras that they made, their film cassettes were improved as well. Each cassette consists of FIVE pieces -- see photos -- the main film-holding, double-lobed section, two caps, a take-up spindle, and a fim clip. They are very easy to load and unload in the dark with 16mm film. The Kiev Vega 2, 30, 30M and 303 cameras used a modified Minolta cassette that had several advantages. First, the take-up spindle in the cassette was made slightly narrower, so MORE film could be loaded into the cassette. For example, the Minolta 16 produces 20 pictures 10x14mm per roll, while the Kiev Vega 2 with the Kiev cassette produces 30 10x14mm pictures per roll -- because it has a longer roll of film. In addition, the Kiev cassettes have a metal snap-ring around the take-up spool -- see second photo. This holds the film in place -- so not tape is needed to keep the film attached to the take-up spool. Another improvement is that the Kiev cassettes have small holes and tabs on the tops -- see third photo -- to snap the caps in place. Again, no need for tape. Finally, with the Kiev 30, 30M & 303 -- which have a larger 13x17mm format -- with these Kiev cassettes you can get 25 exposures per roll. These cassettes are NOT 3D printed. They are molded plastic from Ukraine. You do not need to worry about light leaks -- as you do with 3D printed cassettes, and unlike 3D printed cassettes, these cassettes have felt strips lining the film slots on the cassettes -- see photos. The Kiev cassette will NOT fit in any Minolta 16mm camera. With the Kiev Vega 2 camera you can use single-perforated film, double-perforated film or unperforated film.
