This auction is for ONE sculpture. An amazing and unique sculpture by well-known and listed artist NANCY CERVENKA. Both the base and the coiled horn are made entirely of ROLLED & TWISTED MOVIE FILM! The sculpture was created by spiraling the film, and then applying a protective coating to stabilize the shape. Upon close inspection, the patterns contained within each sculpture reveal themselves as overlapping bands of still images. The base is formed by tightly twisting the roll of filmstrip, and then pressing up on the center, to create a point. The cavity on the underside is then filled with resin. This piece measures just 3 5/8" tall and 2 1/2" wide. It is signed on the bottom by the artist. Also included is a small cardboard storage box fashioned by the artist. The little box has a drawing of this sculpture, and the box is also signed by Cervenka. Sculpture is in excellent condition, with absolutely no chips, nicks, cracks, repairs, or hidden damage.
