The John Deere tractor models that were fitted with Wico XH-1042 magnetos used two different styles of the XH-1042. Some were short lug like the magneto shown in this listing ... and some were standard or long lug styles. The short lug magneto shown in this listing WILL NOT FIT tractor models that were factory fitted with the long lug style XH-1042 as the coupling will not reach far enough to engage with the engine coupling. The short lug style magneto measures .75 " (3/4") from the front flange face to the end of the coupling lug. ( see image #2 in this listing ). Please measure your magneto flange face to end of lug and make sure that the measurement is 3/4" BEFORE YOU ORDER to make very sure that you have a Wico XH-1042 SHORT LUD style magneto.
