Description: This Muir HR2500 12v / 1200w Cheetah Windlass was recently refurbished with a new motor less than a year ago, and case custom powder-coated in Arctic White. Only used a handful of times since overhaul, and then removed from 50' yacht for upgrade to larger windlass with polished chrome case. Boat length or weight is a crude estimate of the size windlass needed. This unit is easily capable of pulling up an 80 pound anchor and 3/8" chain from a depth of 150', and has done so repeatedly in the waters of SE Alaska. A lesser 900w unit would struggle to lift that much weight, and a 500w unit would simply fail the task. The chainwheel (gypsy) is for 3/8" BBB and 3/8" HT chain. Other sizes are readily available. Also included is the original Muir solenoid switch in good working condition. If you would like to have a custom wireless remote control to go with this windlass, I can provide one for an additional $250 cost. Just ask.
