MINI One Cooper S R57 2009-15 Convertible rear weather seal soft top rubber trim

Description: MINITRIM - Mini R57 Convertible (Models 2009-2015) Rear hood soft top weather rubber seal replacement/repair using new self adhesive rubber seal above chrome trim. Kit comes complete with DIY fitting instructions to replace perished top rubber seal on a cloth roof for a Mini One/Cooper/S/D R57 convertible! The supplied items replace the top rubber above the chrome trim only that wraps around the rear above the boot to the quarter panels. To install the new seal, all you’ll need is a sharp craft knife or similar to remove the perished rubber that is attached on the top of your old weather seal making sure ALL of the old rubber is level with the existing chrome trim. Plus necessary extraction tools to remove the existing rear seal plastic strips from the vehicle. A heat gun or hairdryer is also useful to aid the adhesion process of the new rubber seal. As with most convertible cars avoid jet washing the roof and your new seal. Use a sponge if necessary to clean these areas and bucket rinse. Note: It is recommended to remove the two plastic strips to complete cutting away from the car and avoid cutting the roof fabric. Tamper proof torque screws are located under the chrome strip and can be accessed by releasing the side latches (boot loading mode). This allows the lower roof to be tipped up. Support open by propping side latches in the boot stays. This item is an aftermarket product and the rubber strips contained in this kit are not the same material as the original trim on the vehicle. When installing the new trim, you will only be removing the damaged brittle rubber from the top of the original brackets and the rubber strips contained in the kit are much softer and more pliable to ensure a watertight fit. Please follow the instructions and schematics supplied with the kit carefully when fitting the rubber strips to ensure when refitted that they sit against the cloth soft top.
