The stem is made of brass & there's the recognizable period mechanical powder release valve, with a hinged, pivoting, levered arm. The leather is in good condition, with no stitching loss, tears, stains or deformities to its shape. There is, as would be expected with any used item of this age & antique pedigree, evidence of prior use & therefore the slight surface scuffs would be expected, as seen on this particular black powder flask pouch. The brass has now darkened considerably. The end of the brass pouring tube which connects inside the leather, is wrapped with cord, which appears old & is likely original to the piece. We haven't touched the pouch & it remains as it was found in the home it was taken from. 100% original. In working order. Complete. Unadulterated. Genuine. Real.
