It started in Ventura, California in the 1930's, and in the 50's, it was used from JK for riders to CHP（Calfornia Highway Patorol -> Police). In the 1950s, the company established its position as a supplier of leather JKs for the CHP (California Highway Patorol → Police Department), from JKs for riders. As with the Langlitz, the number of pieces produced is very small because only a few pieces are produced each day as a custom order. The leather quality is heavy-ounce cowhide leather, just like Langlitz. You can't tell unless you wear it or open the cuff zippers, but the boa inside the sleeves is also a specification unique to Cal-Leather.
