Description: Here is one of several lots I am going to put up today of Marx pre-WWII metal "flats" soldiers. These were a series Marx called the Soldiers of Fortune. There were foreign soldiers, and there were US Doughboys, who were dressed in uniforms more reminiscent of WWI and the time between the wars than WWII. This lot consists of 4 figures: Infantry Captain, 30 pointsInfantry Private Charging, 15 PointsUS Cavalry, On Horseback, 5 PointsInfantry Private, Marching, 5 Points The point values, I guess, were so that you could use them as targets and make a game of it. Higher rank or better weapon meant more points! These do show signs of playwear, some scratching, and a few corroded spots. Photos show the figures from the fronts, backs, bottoms (where the names and points are) and tops. There is a yardstick in the shots for size reference; they range from about 3 1/2 inches tall to 4 inches tall. Some were even included in prewar military train sets! Priced to sell, with only actual USPS Ground Advantage or Priority Mail shipping cost charged to the winner!
