Description: Marina Abramovic Illy Spirit Cup and Saucer, #0520 Cup and Saucer given as Thank You gifts only to attendees at the annual fundraiser gala for LosAngeles Museum of Contemporary Art in 2011 . The price for the gala was $2500 per person. This was Marina Abramovic’s second contribution to the Illy Spirit Cup series, but is distinguished from the first (2002) in that it was never available for sale. The cup in the photos was used in the Abramovic performance and handed out as a sort of parting gift at the end. For example, she drank from a cup allowing coffee to spill through the hole all over her white medical jacket. She explained that the hole is for sharing with the spirits. The other performance artists also used the cups in the show. Impossible to say who used which cup. The cup measures 2" Tall x 2 3/8" in diameter and thesaucer is 4 3/4" in diameter. This cup has not been used since that night. It has sat on a shelf in the same home since the night of the performance. You are bidding on the exact item in the photos. It is in perfect condition.
