Description: Magnificent Antique Guido Reni Aurora Small Gold Gilt Shadow-box Framed Print. Measures 6" x 8 5/8" and about 1 1/2" deep; the artwork is about 2 3/4" x 5 1/4". Small but great fine detail. I looked at the artwork with a 30 power magnifier loupe and there are no tiny dots found in most prints so this print uses a much older process, probably steel plate engraving possible hand colored. Guaranteed a genuine old antique item. Fine clean condition - see my detailed photos. L'Aurora (The Aurora) is a large Baroque ceiling fresco painted in 1614 by Guido Reni for the Casino, or garden house, adjacent to the Palazzo Pallavicini-Rospigliosi, in Rome. The work is considered Reni's fresco masterpiece.Guido Reni; 4 November 1575 – 18 August 1642) was an Italian painter of the Baroque period, although his works showed a classical manner, similar to Simon Vouet, Nicolas Poussin, and Philippe de Champaigne. He painted primarily religious works, but also mythological and allegorical subjects. Active in Rome, Naples, and his native Bologna, he became the dominant figure in the Bolognese School that emerged under the influence of the Carracci.
