Description: This "Student" model by Lyon and Healy wasn't the typical $2.00 violin in 1910. At $50, L&H gave this model very nice antiquing and an elegant scroll. When I got it back from my luthier (he put a new bridge on, made a new sound post, fixed some cracks and planed the fingerboard), it still sounded pretty dead due to an overly thick top plate. I sent it to renowned luthier Royce Burt for a re-graduation and boy did he do an amazing job. He graduated the top, back and sides and put in a new bassbar and turned this very pretty violin into a powerhouse. Google "Royce Burt" to see examples of his work but those in know are well aware that he is one of only luthiers in America right now transforming these old German and French turn of the century trade fiddles into strong violins. Violin will be well-packed with the bridge and sound-post in the pocket of the older hard shell case. Here’s a link to the violin being played: https://youtu.be/MPA49mn6n-4?si=tJ6FtVDoQ-VWxQef
