Considered in its day to be one of the top restaurants in the world, La Vieille Porte was a gourmet destination for Les Amis d'Escoffier members and won numerous awards.But as time passed and tastes changed, formal French dining became less popular and La Vieille Porte and Le Tire du Bouchon closed in 1974.
