Description: John S.C. Abbott’s ‘The Life of General Ulysses S. Grant’ first published in 1868. ( THIS BOX AND BOOK WILL BE IN YOUR PACKAGE PACKED VERY WELL ) My Grand kids are scared to death of this and the wife says it has to go, I put the book in a bag and returned it to the Box, I will bubble wrap it when I package it. The babies all freak out about this for some reason so I keep being hounded to sell it or take it back to the people I got it from. I don't want to go back there so I am putting up for sale. Thanks.) The BOX is not 155 years old - the box appears to be wooden, I am not sure of it's age, it's in very good condition and I am unsure how long the book was stored in it, certainly not even close to 155 years as the box is much younger than that obviously. The Lady that sold me the book said I cannot buy it without the box and she said she wanted them to go together, she actually told me I had to promise to keep them together. So that's what I am doing. I read a lot of it myself, you have to be careful with it as the pages are fragile and some are loose. It's 155 years old and was not kept in a safe or anything like that. The Lady that sold it to me said it was her great Grandfathers. This is very cool but is unsettling around here. here is a description of the book. Ulysses S. Grant (born Hiram Ulysses Grant; April 27, 1822 – July 23, 1885) was the 18th President of the United States (1869–1877). As commanding general, Grant led the Union Armies to victory over the Confederacy in the American Civil War, which ended shortly after Robert E. Lee surrendered to him at Appomattox in 1865. After the war, Grant served as peacetime general, implementing Congressional Reconstruction, often at odds with President Andrew Johnson. Twice elected president, Grant led the Radical Republicans in their effort to remove the vestiges of Confederate nationalism and slavery, protect African-American citizenship, and defeat the Ku Klux Klan. It's just very old. Thanks. Thanks again.
