There is a newer version with the frame having 1 large shelf in place of the faux leather that lights up as well, instead of the 2 shelves on each end, but to ME, the more space you have to put things, the messier it looks. Customer support was quick to respond when I had issues with lights being defective from factory to get replaced so both sides would work. Only thing I don't care for are the little brackets that keep ur matress from sliding off they fall off easily Over all great product and would buy again
