Description: Up for Sale: A division of Kefersteinia pulchella 'Stony Point', a very shapely clone of this fabulous species. The plant you are bidding on is shown in the images with the tape measure. It is growing in a 2.5” plastic pot in a fine bark mix. It has 1 mature growths and 1 new growths that is not yet mature. The division was taken in March of this year. The blooming images are of this clone. The Species: It grows at an elevation of 3600 ft in Bolivia. The 1.5" flower is a clear light green with a large deep maroon spot in the lip. Kefersteinia pulchella will have a flush of flowers in the late spring and early summer, but can bloom off and on all year. Old fans continue to produce flowers so that it can ring itself with flowers when well grown. They are compact plants and make wonderful specimens. Culture: Though I have grown this in cool conditions, it is well suited to intermediate to warm conditions. As with most cloud-forest plants, it requires good quality water and year round moisture. I fertilize them with dilute fertilizer most of the year and a bit lower strength in winter. I have grown them successfully potted in a fine bark mix and also in sphagnum moss as well as other mixes. I most often ship USPS, but can use FedEx 2nd Day Air if you prefer. There may be an extra charge for FedEx. Your item will be shipped with a tracking number so you can see its progress. Insurance for $50 is included in Priority Mail. If you want your item held, DO NOT pay the eBay invoice. Ebay has changed its policy and I am penalized if I don’t ship your purchase within 5 days of payment. You can pay me through PayPal and I can hold your shipment until you are ready. I can hold your item for a few days if you wish to combine shipment with other items; please let me know that you want to wait. Shipping plants to Hawaii requires that you have an import permit and pay the Phytosanotary certificate/handling charges ($20). International shipping is not available. Weather: I live in a mild climate area, so I am able to ship most any time. Shipping with a heat pack is extra work for me and I won't recommend it unless I think you really need it. IF your daytime temperatures are below 40F a heat pack may or may not be advisable and we should discuss. If your daytime temperatures are below 32F I don't usually recommend shipping even with a heat pack. If your package will be sitting outside in a mailbox or on a porch after delivery that needs to be taken in to consideration.
