Description: This sale is for a vintage paperback set of Lord of the Rings & the Hobbit by JRR Tolkien in presentation box. All four of the volumes were printed in 1987 including the 50th Anniversary edition of the Hobbit.The Box has a 2" split to the opening edge and some light scuffing and edge were here and there.The paperbacks have clearly been well read with creasing to their spines and covers. The Return of the King has an abrasion mark around the title. They are a little sun faded but the cover illustrations by Roger Garland are still pretty striking. Internally the books bindings are fine (no loose or missing pages) the pages are free from inscriptions, foxing or heavy wear (no rips or tears) and beyond the usually yellowing are very good. All in all a nice collectors set rare still in the original box.
